In Between States

In 2016, I was invited by a social enterprise to document a community of Myanmarese Chin refugees residing in Kuala Lumpur. I met with the headmaster of a refugee school, as well as several families sharing space in an increasingly dilapidated apartment block.

Unable to return to their homeland, and having almost no access to education and employment in Malaysia, all the refugees can do is wait in uncertainty for the opportunity to be accepted and resettled in another country.
